We enclose a copy of the syndicate's last
Kindly note, however, that this covers the first year's working, which was entirely of a preliminarı nature, our managing starf only having arrived in the Colony and commenced working in April, 1917. Develop- ment to date is of a very difierent nature, and we are able to show results of energetic pioneer work wnich brings the object for which this Company was formed well within view. This object, as already indicated to you, is to capture for this country trade which was formerly very largely in the hands of the Germans, and to open up further possibilities for British trade and enterprise
such as French Indo-China can offer in almost unlimited
degree,
No shares were issued on the registration of the company in December, 1916, and pioneer and develop- ment work was carried on with totally inadequate funds supplied privately by Mincing Lane firms, who recognised the possibilities, and were anxious that no time should be lost in gaining a footing in the interests of this country.
Thase friends have quite recently, i.e. in September of this year, agreed under a properly drawn
up deed to accept snares against money which they advanced and these shares are only now in course of delivery.
Awaiting the favour of your reply.
We are, Dear Sir,
Yours faithfully,
(Sd.) G. Andreae.
